At a small bay on Loughborough Inlet I met a homesteader, Dane who
had been here for over 30 years. It was $20 CDN per night to stay at this float.
There's no water, no power, no services, .... nothing but remote, quiet, beautiful eternal back country.

Terry, Katrina, Leon and their two dogs. The restaurant and gallery are on the right.
Their home is in the back and the whole assembly floats between a
small unnamed island and the shoreline. Diesel oil, propane gas and gasoline
are the fuels that keep this self contained home and "resort" operating.
It's all brought in by barge once a week. The home is heated by a wood burning stove.

The sign inthe window says, "Sorry, We're Closed". The forced closing by a government bureaucracy
was a tragedy for this small business, a remote business that must produce its profit in the short summer season.
