The dinghy 'Sam' at shoreside on Wallace Island. This terrain reminds me of Yosemite National Park.
With a few cabins and a caretaker's house, (the cabins are rotted away now) this island was a vacation spot many years ago.

Ellen hikes. Wallace Island provided terrific hikes down well defined paths, through tall ferns,
past spruce trees, cedars and moss covered logs ... and a few snakes. Kayakers poke into the
small coves and camp ashore. On the northern tip of this island are some dedicated campsites with wooden platforms
for tents. Charge? $6 CDN ($4.20 US) Princess Cove or the Houstoun Straight or the Trincomali Channel.

Sam on the beach at Echo Bay, Sucia Is. The bay, almost empty now, is very popular later in the summer season
since it is within easy reach of the densely populated Puget Sound boating community. This bay is in U.S. territory and has
good protection from all but easterly winds.
