Lifeline to the mainland, the 'praying mantis' Bowen Island Ferry runs every hour for a 20 minute trip.
This is Snug Cove, the site of the Union Steamship Marina. The mainland
mountains in the distance across the channel are a 1/2 hour bus ride from frenzied Vancouver city.

This well protected dock, near Union Steamship Marina, is about 200 yards from our boat. Despite 35k winds
outside, there occurs barely a ripple to the water in the cove. The ferry
lands just off to the right and brings Vancouver city people to this quiet island for a day or two of rest.
