A fine side bay in the Octopus Islands, a protected anchorage on the way to Okisollo Channel.

Just slightly past Hole-In-The-Wall we will pass Upper and Lower Rapids.

This is a clear cut forest area. Without seeding, broadleaf plants start quickly and block the

light slowing the growth of the small cedar and fir seedlings. This area will be seeded with fir and cedar resulting a

faster start for the seedling trees. This area may be re-harvested in as little as forty years.

Smith Soune, Fly Basin at sunset. The next morning we were enveloped in fog.

Radiation fog before our departure from Fly Basin.

This is, I think, an Alaska ferry. When he was in this position, abeam, it was the first time

we heard his fog horn. I estimated his speed at 9 to 10 knots!

I could see him on the radar but he was a big target and blended into the islands on the stern.
