Sunrise on the Bay and our start back to the Delta.
Construction of the new east (earthquake proof!) portion of the Bay Bridge.
The Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. I remember when this was in the design stage.
Frank Lloyd Wright submitted a design called the "butterfly bridge".
It was made of reinforced concrete and had small parks along the roadway.
A very advanced and artistic design, it was turned down because, of course,
it was too costly. He felt the costs would be recovered by the lack of maintenance required.
Sunset in Antioch, our portside view. This will be a warm summer evening and
we'll be comfortable in the cockpit until 11 or 12 PM.
